**UPDATE: We will be meeting at 9.30 at parliament house, on the left side of the steps when facing parliament, and will be joining up with the Muslim contingent at Birraranga (Melbourne) Invasion Day March and Asian Contingent at Birraranga (Melbourne) Invasion Day March to walk together!!**
We invite all Jewish people to join us in standing and walking in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on Invasion Day, January 26, in proclaiming that sovereignty has never been ceded, and in celebrating Indigenous resistance, culture, history, and survival.
We will stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples across so-called Australia and demand an end to the ongoing acts of violence, dispossession, colonisation and genocide perpetuated by our governments and institutions and individuals. Furthermore, we acknowledge that those of us who are non-Indigenous benefit in some ways from colonisation, and so it’s not enough to only condemn what is occurring. Instead, we need to recommit to undertake continued acts of decolonisation, to unsettling what claims to be settled.
Last year the invasion day rally saw an estimated 50,000 people march through Narrm (Melbourne). Let’s make sure this year is even bigger! Invite your friends, print and put up posters in your local area, talk to your family, friends and community, organise discussion groups, pay the rent, put on a fundraiser.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri of the Kulin nation, on whose land this event takes place, we pay respect to their elders, past, present and emerging. We pay respect to the elders who have fought since the beginnings of invasion, and who have continued to fight against ongoing colonisation. And we pay our respect to all the young warriors who continue this fight.
