AJDS Annual Dinner: an evening in solidarity with Pittsburgh

Australian Jewish Democratic Society Annual Dinner

An evening in Solidarity with Pittsburgh

Please join us for the AJDS Annual Dinner, this year  organised to send our love and solidarity to the bereaved  communities in Pittsburgh.  In these terrible times we stand  firm in our dedication and passion to fighting racism and  fostering justice within and beyond our communities.
We will be joined over Skype by Rafael Shimunov in New York speaking about the aftermath of the shooting and how  communities are standing together against antisemitism and white nationalism.  Raphael is a board member of Jews  for Racial and Economic Justice (JFREJ), an early leader at IfNotNow, and a Bend the Arc Fellow for the Jews of Color cohort.
We know that the shooter targeted the Tree of Life  community for their commitment to solidarity with refugees. And so we continue our tradition of welcoming the stranger,  and are supporting refugee enterprises to cater this event.
Food will be catered by Zafu foods, Ethiopian & Eritrean  cuisine, and delicious homemade Palestinian desserts.

If you would like to support us but can’t make it to the dinner, or would otherwise like to support someone to come along, you can now book a ‘Pay it forward: Chanukah sponsorship of new AJDS ally’ ticket through our online booking!

Venue is wheelchair accessible. Contact Yael if you have any accessibility needs: [email protected]
