We are friends of Friends of the Earth

On April 13, 2015, members of the AJDS sent the following letter to the Australian House of Representatives Standing Committee on the Environment.
 
 
Dear Secretary,
We refer to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on the Environment established to inquire into and report on the administration and transparency of the Register of Environmental Organisations (the Register) and its effectiveness in supporting communities to take practical action to improve the environment.
We are aware of and thankful for the activities undertaken by Friends of the Earth Australia and Friends of the Earth Melbourne.
We believe that these organisations have been extremely effective in supporting communities to take practical action to improve the environment with on ground environment works.
As such it is not right to consider withdrawing the Taxation Gift Deductable Status that Friends Of The Earth Australia and Friends Of The Earth Melbourne are eminently qualified to receive.
