Israeli voices of dissent

7th May 2015

These Israeli activists recently caught the attention of two of our readers. The first appear in the following clip from “The Israel Lobby: Is It Good for the US? Is It Good for Israel?“, held at the National Press Club in Washington last month. Of particular interest were the addresses of Miko Peled and Gideon Levy, who concluded,

“I must remind all of us that by the end of the day, we are dealing with the third generation under the occupation. With the fourth or fifth generation, ever since the State of Israel was established, those people deserve also something. Those people deserve dignity and freedom. They don’t have time to wait …”

You can find a transcript of the panel here.

And the second item is the following conversation between Tariq Ali and Moshe Maschover, who speaks about being an anti-Zionist, Socialist activist, and the history of Israel as it is inextricably bound with the uprooting of Palestinians. Maschover also posts regularly on the Israel Occupation Archive.
